This is one of those cakes, which I do once a year. The carnival or Mardi Gras. Delicious, crispy chrusty, or if you prefer Faworki. There are plenty of recipes for these cakes, she used the many different. This time I decided to try the recipe, that caught my eye a few days ago on the blog at Izy. I was intrigued, that Iza – Faworki to have beautiful bubbles – dough is passed through meat grinder. I decided to do so, but during the kneading, came to me yet another idea. I decided to treat the dough hook for kneading:) And from today so I'll just do Faworki. I recommend!
Ingredients for a huge plate of:
- 2,5 – 3 glass of flour (I'm using 2,5 glasses and a handful of flour)
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1 heaped tbsp icing sugar
- 1 heaped tablespoon soft butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 spoon of spirits 96 % (I did not have, I gave vodka)
- 1/2 cup thick sour cream
- oil for frying
- powder sugar for sprinkling
Sift flour into a bowl (first 2,5 glasses and, if necessary, sprinkle), add salt, powdered sugar and soft butter and rub them with dry ingredients. Then add the eggs, cream and alcohol. Knead a smooth dough, podsypując flour if necessary. The dough should have the consistency of soft dough. Then aerate the dough and you can do it like me, ok hook or knead 5 – 7 minutes, or as proposed to Iza, or pass 2 times through a meat grinder. You can also do it the traditional way, which is good for getting rid of negative emotions – hit ok 10 minutes rolling in dough.
Ready to roll out the dough thinly on a floured pastry board strewn. Cut into strips approximately 10 cm and a width 2,5 – 3 c m. I have a perfectly radełka and did a knife for pizza. In the middle of every make and thread the cut by one end.
Fry in hot oil well until golden brown. Draw on a paper towel. After cooling, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
