Honey cake (Polish Stefanka cake)

I used to really not like this cake, as cheesecakes. So do not eat not to mention making. But fortunately flavor tastes change. honey cake (Polish Stefanka cake). Cake popular in many homes. Liked and made the occasion of Christmas. Honey cakes postponed mass of semolina. The only thing it is good to remember, to to, the cake is the best, poleży as in a refrigerator overnight at least. Pancakes are delicious and tender. Starting this year, will host and for me. I recommend you very much!

The recipe comes from the Chochliki kuchenne.

Stefanka | Honey cake (Polish Stefanka Cake)

Cake:

  • 0,5kg of wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar *
  • 200g margarine (I gave butter)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda (I forgot and I added, nothing happened)

Sift flour, add the remaining ingredients and knead the pastry. Divide the 3 of, Roll out each of them to measure plaque.

Plaque size 30x25cm baking parchment paper. Countertop oven at 180 ° C for about 15 – 20 minutes, individually. Pancakes should be nicely browned. Mine are to me, a bit too bright, but baked according to the temperature specified in the original (160° C), which in my opinion is too low.

Mass:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 3/4 glass of sugar
  • 200g margarine (I gave butter)
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • 9 heaped tablespoons of semolina (I gave 11)

In a saucepan, boil the milk and margarine and sugars. Vigorous stirring, pour the semolina. Cook until mixture thickens, stirring continuously so as not resulting pellet. The finished mass leave to cool, then divided into 2 parts and put it tops. Pour over top of chocolate.

Glaze:

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of cocoa

Boil the milk with sugar and butter, add sifted cocoa powder and mix thoroughly. If the sauce came out too thin, add cocoa, if too thick, add milk.

*my glass = 250ml

Weight is a little thin(but not smooth) initially. Moved the cake so slightly przestudzoną and I put in the refrigerator. On the second day of finger licking. But I must admit, that in this way the mass is made slightly different texture and appearance than traditionally pounded, but Stefanki suited just in time. I recently found out, my sister is doing well in this way sometimes to Karpatka, but in this case I will remain a traditionalist.

I'm doing this cake from your recipe. I only wonder if throwing butter milk is a better way to do weight than a traditional, trituration of? You always do? I'm afraid, that did not come out….

I like Stefanek, but for me it was the name of cheesecake on a cold biscuits, and I think the more I like cheesecake, but did not despise Stefanek, I love semolina, in any form, and this becomes particularly refined taste and elegance.
