And one day, wrote to me benevolent person, sending me a recipe for poppy seed cake, that at her house done over the years. I thought, that you do not, can ends up on the stored flavor. Ingredients for the mass of poppy:

  • 1 kg maku
  • 4 yolk
  • 4 egg whites
  • 600g of sugar (I gave 400g)
  • 150g butter, softened
  • a few drops of almond oil
  • finely chopped nuts and almonds (at the discretion of)
  • orange peel (amount of discretion )
  • 100g of raisins
  • 3 tablespoons of honey

Poppy burned, Drain and cool thoroughly. Cold grind three times (You can save yourself time and buy a poppy ground). Whip egg yolks with the sugar until light and fluffy, add the soft butter, whisking constantly. Then add the poppy seeds and mix thoroughly. Add to the weight of poppy orange peel, raisins, chopped almonds, almond oil and honey. Stir all together, If you recognize, that the weight is not enough sweet, You can add sugar or honey. I do not like very sweet pastries and such number of fully enough for me (and I, and so it was very sweet). Beat egg whites stiff and gently mix ground poppy.

The weight can be prepared the day before.

Syntax for pastry:

If you buy ready-made mass poppy I have to add sugar to it, butter, eggs…? Is it enough to combine it with nuts and raisins? How much weight will correspond to the final weight of poppy from your recipe as more or less…?

Thank you very much for this wonderful recipe. Such a large amount of ground poppy amazed me, and I decided to bake the opium for the holidays, although it is a little time consuming. Cake came out great, not too sweet and everything she loved, but not without problems. After grinding the poppy was so much, I did not have blood, wktórym could combine it with other ingredients, and all larger pots were taken. For the future, I need to bake before, and not, as now is the day before Christmas Eve.
We tasted this cake, to think, permanently and will visit with us at Christmas.
